Info

Building on the work that went into the publication of Niederösterreich im 19. Jahrhundert (St. Pölten, 2021), the Institut für Geschichtswissenschaften und Empirische Kulturwissenschaft (Institute of History and Empirical Cultural Studies) at the University of Innsbruck has launched a project aimed at publishing a comprehensive volume on the history of the Tyrolean region in the nineteenth century. The project, coordinated jointly by the University of Innsbruck, the Centre for Regional History, and the University of Trento, brings together a wide range of aspects relating to the social, political, cultural, institutional, legal, economic, religious, military, and environmental history of Tyrol between the late eighteenth and the early twentieth century.

Francesca Brunet serves as coeditor for the project, and with Ellinor Foster she serves as co-coordinator of one of the project’s thematic areas, titled “Konstruieren einer Region. Politische Diskurse, Gerichtskonstellationen, Symbolische Kommunikation” (Building the Region: Political Discourses, Legal Constellations, Symbolic Communication).

Publication is scheduled for 2028.
